Who we are
Technical & Compliance Services
Technical support in maintenance, regulatory compliance and in-service vessel technical management.
About Blue Efficiency Marine™
Blue Efficiency Marine™ is a technical services firm specialised in operational management, maintenance, regulatory compliance, and maritime documentation management for vessels in service.
We design our services so that small shipowners and family-run shipping companies can operate with clarity, control, and full technical traceability.
Our approach integrates marine engineering, day-to-day vessel operations, and technical documentation into a practical and structured model that avoids improvisation and reduces the administrative burden on the shipowner.
We were founded with a clear purpose: to ensure that no small shipowner has to operate “blind” or depend on fragmented service providers.
We deliver technical judgement, structure, and traceable solutions that work in the daily operation of a vessel.

Our vision
To deliver real operational value and support shipowners through a clear, practical and traceable technical model, based on:
- Efficient, structured processes with verifiable traceability.
- Reliable technical documentation, always prepared for inspections.
- Class & Flag compliance, without improvisation..
- Professional and continuous technical judgement to operate without uncertainty.
Our objective is that any shipowner — regardless of fleet size — can operate using reliable data, traceable documentation, and specialised marine technical support.
Less uncertainty. Fewer deviations. Greater technical control.
Our philosophy
ENGINEERING FOCUSED ON REAL OPERATIONAL PROBLEMS
At Blue Efficiency Marine™, we apply useful, direct and results-driven engineering.
We analyse each vessel with sound technical judgement and practical operational insight, so that shipowners can make clear decisions and implement solutions that actually work in day-to-day operations.
OPERATION WITHOUT UNEXPECTED EVENTS
We understand the impact of an unexpected failure or a delay during a dry-docking.
For this reason, we structure maintenance, review processes, and apply predictive and preventive techniques that reduce deviations, failures and cost overruns.
EVERYTHING UNDER CONTROL, WITH FULL TRACEABILITY
Technical documentation should not be a burden.
Our work consists of organising, preparing and controlling all key technical information, ensuring that the shipowner has a real and up-to-date view of the vessel’s condition, and that documentation is always ready for inspections and audits.
TECHNICAL SUPPORT TAILORED TO EACH FLEET’S OPERATION
We do not work with models designed for large fleets.
We design solutions adapted to the operational reality of small and medium-sized shipowners, typically operating fleets of 1–8 vessels, through simple, robust and sustainable processes over time.
CLOSENESS, CLARITY AND HONESTY
We explain every recommendation in a clear, transparent and practical manner, ensuring that shipowners fully understand the technical rationale behind each decision.
Why Blue Efficiency Marine™
A TECHNICAL MODEL TAILORED TO THE REALITY OF SMALL SHIPOWNERS
Blue Efficiency Marine™ provides a structured and traceable technical model, specifically designed for shipowners operating fleets of 1–8 vessels, enabling:
• Real visibility of the vessel’s condition.
• Sound marine judgement to prioritise tasks and resources.
• Simple and sustainable processes, adapted to real operational conditions.
• Clear decisions, based on data and technical evidence.
We do not offer isolated services, but a comprehensive technical system that reduces uncertainty and improves day-to-day operations.
A SECTOR THAT DEMANDS ORDER AND TECHNICAL JUDGEMENT
The technical management of a vessel covers maintenance, dry-docking, documentation, energy, inspections, and daily operations.
When these areas depend on different providers without coordination or a global view, operational risk and cost overruns increase.
Our model delivers structure, visibility, and technical rigour, enabling a safer, more orderly and predictable operation.
A SERVICE STRUCTURE DESIGNED AROUND THE SHIPOWNER
We organise our work into six technical areas that reflect how a vessel is actually managed:
- Maintenance
- Dry-docking
- Compliance
- Efficiency
- Operations
- Technical support
Estas áreas se integran en tres bloques técnicos de servicio:
1. Technical Management Services™
Comprehensive technical management, covering PMS, dry-docking, Class & Flag™, Safety Systems™, Technical Office™, and Document Control™.
Outcome: structured maintenance, well-prepared inspections, and real operational control.
2. Operational Performance & Digitalization™
Digital rounds, IIoT sensors, technical KPIs, and energy efficiency monitoring.
Outcome: reliable data to improve availability, consumption, and operational safety.
3. Energy & Environmental Performance™
CII, EEXI, SEEMP III, and environmental efficiency services.
Outcome: regulatory compliance and reduced emissions and fuel consumption.
How we work
Initial technical assessment.
We assess the actual condition of the vessel, covering maintenance, documentation, energy, spare parts, dry-docking, and inspections.
We identify risks, deviations, and opportunities for improvement through a technical and operational perspective.
Prioritisation and technical roadmap.
We convert the assessment into a clear and traceable plan, with defined priorities, realistic timelines, and a workload aligned with day-to-day operations.
This includes defining:
- Which issues are critical and require immediate action.
- Which tasks should be addressed first, and why.
- The impact of each action on safety, availability, and cost.
- What to expect in terms of timelines and workload.
This approach avoids improvisation and allows shipowners to anticipate inspections, PSC, and audits.
Technical execution.
We implement the required actions in a coordinated manner, covering maintenance, dry-docking, inspections, digitalisation, energy, and document control, including:
- Design or reorganisation of the PMS.
- Preparation for and support during inspections (Class, Flag, PSC).
- Technical management of dry-docking.
- Technical audits.
- Digital rounds, IIoT solutions, and energy optimisation.
- Organisation and control of technical documentation.
Clear decisions, less uncertainty, fewer deviations, and greater vessel availability.
Technical activity and applied professional judgement
Blue Efficiency Marine™ is led by Antonio Quijada García, Naval and Ocean Engineer, with a solid background in naval architecture and ship systems, and more than ten years of experience in asset management and maintenance, applied to the maritime environment through a technical, structured and reliability-oriented approach.
His professional background combines academic training in naval engineering with specialization in ship inspection and classification, international regulatory compliance (SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM, MLC 2006), dry-dock supervision, and technical management of vessels in service, complemented by hands-on experience in condition-based maintenance (CBM), reliability engineering and maintenance digitalization, where technically justified.
This combination enables the technical management of a vessel to be addressed as a continuous and traceable process, integrating maintenance, documentation, inspections and technical decision-making under a holistic engineering perspective.
Part of our technical work and professional reflection is shared openly on LinkedIn as a natural extension of our professional activity.
